Plaintiff was admitted to the hospital for shortness of breath and pneumonia. Due to a series of negligent actions on the part of the medical staff attending to his care, Plaintiff’s condition worsened while he was hospitalized, eventually causing him to stop breathing for a period of minutes. Plaintiff never fully recovered and remains to this day in what his current treaters have called a “persistent vegetative state.”
While working with another law firm, Winer, McKenna & Burritt, LLP, associate Jennifer Prusak was involved in the written discovery phase of the lawsuit Plaintiff and his family brought against the hospital and individual doctors who negligently attended his care. Ms. Prusak’s involvement in this case eventually led to a successful settlement on behalf of Plaintiff that his family will be able to use to pay for Plaintiff’s care for many years.
$1,200,000 settlement on behalf of Plaintiff
