Oakland, CA – June 11, 2018 – Attorney Shawn D. Tillis was elevated to name partner at the firm now known as Winer, Burritt & Tillis, LLP.
Mr. Tillis is in his second stint at the firm, having originally been an associate from 2003 until 2006. He rejoined the firm in 2009. His practice focuses on personal injury, employment and organization harassment and discrimination, and therapist malpractice. He specializes in cases involving sexual abuse and catastrophic mental and emotional damages. His unique background and experiences enable him to communicate complicated emotional damages in simple language.
“This is a proud day for me having spent years learning the ropes here at this firm,” said Mr. Tillis. “I’m most proud of the work we do here, fighting on behalf of people who have been treated horribly and getting them the justice they deserve.”
Mr. Tillis, an African American, joins a diverse partnership which includes two women. He was recently featured on the cover of San Francisco Lawyer Magazine for his work furthering the cause of diversity throughout the legal industry.
